NFR Go-Round Buckle Awards Move to the South Point
LAS VEGAS, NV – South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa will host the Montana Silversmiths Go-Round Buckle Presentations for the first time. This event is sponsored by the National Finals Rodeo and Montana Silversmiths.
For nearly two decades the awards were held at the Gold Coast, formerly owned by Michael Gaughan. When Gaughan moved to the South Point, all of his rodeo friends followed. This will be the first year the ceremonies will be held in a new location.
“It’s a highly anticipated event each year,” Gaughan said. “It will be better than ever this year.”
The Buckle Presentations will be held nightly from December 6-14 at 11:00 PM in the Dance Hall at South Point. “It is important to get there early,” John Collison, Entertainment Director, said. “It is going to be packed.”
The awards will also be hosted by two new cowboys with quite the rodeo history: Flint Rasmussen and Randy Corley. Rasmussen is an eight-time PRCA Clown of the Year and eight–time NFR Clown. Corley is a ten-time PRCA Announcer of the Year and a six-time NFR announcer.
The entertainment doesn’t start or end with the Buckle Presentations. The rodeo will be broadcast live every night throughout the property including the Dance Hall. After the rodeo, there are FREE nightly headliner acts including Deryl Dodd, Jon Wolfe, Blaine Gray and Lee Brice. After the ceremony, entertainment continues until 4:00 AM. The South Point is the place for cowboys during the rodeo.
The South Point is an ideal location for the buckle awards with a larger showroom and the technology to show the ceremony on the televisions all throughout the property; there is no bad seat. The property is also easily accessible from both Las Vegas Blvd. and now from the I-15 at the Silverado Ranch exit.
